Not what you were looking for?

Why am I not receiving test emails?

If you’re not receiving test emails, the first thing you should do is:

  1. Check your SPAM folder.
  2. In Gmail, also check your PROMOTIONS folder.

Test emails can go missing for a few reasons:

  1. They’re in your SPAM folder because you’re using a new system or your email provider is interpreting something in your email as spammy. If it is in your spam folder, manually move your test email to your inbox. This teaches your inbox to treat these emails as wanted email.
  2. Server delays and blocks for your email address can also interfere with delivery. You can check the status of your test email by clicking on Reports > Activity Stream:

Test emails will say TEST EMAIL before the Subject Line. If, under Type, you see Blocked, Bounced, or Deferred, you may need to check with your IT department to determine why those emails are being blocked.

What should I do?

It is not uncommon for temporary blocks to occur, either as a result of company security settings or something in the email that the server is interpreting as spammy. If you’re in a pinch and want to get a test through quickly, send a test email to a freemail email address like Gmail, AOL, Hotmail, or Yahoo. Otherwise, check in with your IT department to help troubleshoot why your test emails aren’t being delivered.
